PRIMARY AND SECONDARY AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED 0017 00

INSTALLATION

1. DO NOT install element until it is dry.

2. Inspect element for damage. Place a bright light inside

the element and rotate element slowly. If any rupture,

holes or damaged gaskets are discovered, replace the

element.

3. If a new element is to be installed, inspect the element

and gasket for shipping and storage damage.

4. Install the primary filter element in the air cleaner can-

ister and secure with the wing nut.

5. Install outer cover. Turn thumbscrew to tighten clamp.

6. Install the outer cover and clamp. Tighten the thumb-

screw.

7. Check the rubber evacuator valve to be sure it is not

plugged or damaged.

8. Reset the air intake restriction indicator by pressing

button on end of indicator.
